The Illawarra Academy of Sport is a not-for-profit organisation that continues to provide equal opportunity, importance and encouragement to talented young athletes and coaches within the Illawarra Region to achieve excellence through sport while becoming valued citizens within the community.

Established in 1985 and the pioneer for the regional Academy model in Australian sport, the Illawarra Academy of Sport, with the support of our many partners, provide athletes with the programs to develop, excel and achieve through sport while maintaining strong community ties —this in turn produces young ambassadors for the community, the Illawarra Academy of Sport and our valued partners.

The Illawarra has a rich history in developing and elevating athletes to higher representative honours, with the Academy a significant vehicle in the process. Over three decades, the IAS has supported more than 5500 young people from across the region in their pursuit of sporting excellence.

The Illawarra Academy of Sport Annual Golf Day proceeds go directly towards supporting IAS athletes in their pursuit of sporting excellence. The Academy relies heavily on the generosity of community in supporting such events like the golf day and would not be in a position to provide our athletes with these opportunities if it were not for this support.
